Hi Meenakshi,
That is a design aptitude test which is conducted by various design colleges like NIFT, MIT Institute of Design, etc., as a part of their admission process. You can pursue B.Des/M.Des course in fashion design, accessory design, leather design, textile design, fashion communication and so on after qualifying this exam.

Of course, leather designing is one of the major course under fashion designing. You come across so many things in your daily life, which are made of leather like footwear, jackets, carry bags and handbags, belts and a lot in clothing as well and minor things hard to imagine. All these are to be designed by a leather designer. It may sound very basic but leather designing is really tough and demands a very creative brain.

Basically, the Diploma courses are designed for the people who are currently in handloom or fashion sector. If you want to do anything, then I would suggest you to join Masters in Fashion Management or Technology. The average package was around INR 6.5 lakhs.

Yes, you have to give all the exams. The only exception case with you will be that you will have an advantage of an NRI quota. Or else, it will be a general ranking. And, yes you are eligible.

Hi Riya!
It is definitely possible but each fashion institute has its own eligibility criteria. Some may allow admission to a candidate hailing from any educational background while others would prefer a candidate who has done graduation in design field itself. You will have to check the criteria of all the colleges that you are interested in. For example: Pearl Academy will not consider your application for the Masters programme but NID and NIFT would accept the application as the admission criteria is solely dependent on how you perform in the entrance exam. Sometimes you can apply late to school with a small fine. Check if there is anything else you can do. If NID is the only school you want to get in to you're only option is taking a gap year.
Don't allow yourself to think that its a waste of your time. Instead, try to think of this as an opportunity to prepare for the exam and work on your portfolio and your skills.
Schools like NID look for students who are ambitious and have leadership skills. Students who care deeply about a cause and go out of their way to make a change are some of the things these colleges appreciate.
Take up some internship in the field you're truly interested in. Yo

Hi,
Yes, you are eligible for Masters of Fashion management (MFM ), if you have completed your B.Tech. And 23 is the age limit for the candidate who is applying for Bachelor's programme at NIFT, but you are applying for Master's degree so it's fine if you are 23 and above. Now, you need to clear an entrance exam offor Masters of fashion management (MFM). You need to score a rank under 500, if you fall under the general category.
All the best.
