For (Design Aptitude Test), there isn't much that you can do. Firstly, and most importantly, you should have an aptitude for design. NID papers are designed in such a way that only those who have a creative side will be able to clear it. The question paper is a mix of creativity, logical thinking and general knowledge. You need to be aware of the latest happenings in the world. Cramming up yearbooks won't help you, seriously. Instead make a habit of reading the newspaper every day.

I'll answer it in short.
NID is purely dedicated to designing areas. There are few courses only for fashion related.
People work in depth of each area of design viz, fashion, automobiles, lifestyle, architecture, film, cartoons, movie making, communication and much more. They do not just stick to the fashion world.
NID people work to change the world.
NIFT is mostly dedicated to the fashion world as I said earlier.
There are many branches but indirectly they all are connected with fashion only, viz; Leather, Textiles, Lifestyle, Knitwear, Fashion communication etc.

No. See the reason NID doesn't prescribe a syllabus and changes its pattern every year is to discourage this recipe style of reaching solutions.
Doing coaching is like walking on a rope bridge you loose freedom.
Stay original. Keep observing. Sketch everything, for drawings, speak always speak the truth. Watch anime. Keep doodling.
