The NIFT 2024 exam will be administered across 37 cities in the country. Note that each of these cities may have one or more exam centres. The information provided by the candidate when filling out the NIFT 2024 application form are verified by NIFT officials before any candidate is considered for admission from June 5-12 (6 pm).The verification of original documents is conducted online. Note that at the time of counseling registration, the candidate is required to upload documents. Also, if the certificates are in any other language than Hindi/ English, then a certified translation in Hindi/ English produced duly verified by the issuing institution/ gazetted officer. If the candidate fails to produce the translation, the candidate may be denied admission.

The application process for NIFT 2024 will be conducted online. After completing the application process, inclduing payment of fees, the candidate must download a printout of the application form.In fact, the NIFT prospectus prescribes the candidate to “apply on time and keep a printout / photocopy of application form for further reference along with proof of payment.”The NIFT 2024 application form is for admission to the B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses. There are 18 participating NIFTs that currently have a combined intake of 5.215 seats.

The candidate has to select their admission category at the time of filling out the NIFT 2024 application form. The candidate must make sure that they have the requisite valid and verificable certificate supporting their category.Note that the category selected by a candidate at the time of submitting the application form will be considered as final.If a candidate selects a reserved category i.e. SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/PWD but fails to submitted a valid Category Certificate, he or she will be considered for open category seats provided any benefit of relaxed age or income or cut offs has not been availed by the candidate at any stage of t

The NIFTs have a combined intake of 4387 regular seats.Additionally, there are 180 seats reserved for NRI candidates.NRI candidates aren't required to appear in the NIFT 2025 entrance exam. Instead, the admission process for these candidates will be based on merit of SAT/GMAT/GRE scores.Candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria can apply for admission under NRI category.

Yes, NIFT has the right to cancel any of the examination centres. Also, in such a scenario, the candidate will be allocated an alternate centre. Note that any change in NIFT 2024 exam centre will be notified on the NIFT admission portal - niftadmissions.in. The candidate will also be provided with a helpline number, where they can reach out in case of any doubts or issues.For your reference, here is a sample case:

In case of M.Des courses, there is no requirement for the candidate to select campus preferences. Note that in case of the B.Des program, shortlisted candidates are required to submit campus preferences as part of the counseling process.The seat allotment for M.Des candidates will be strictly based on the merit rank of the candidate in the NID DAT 2025 exam.The 1st round of seat allotment for the M.Des programme will be announced around the last week of April 2025.

Yes, all B.Des candidates who were shortlisted for NID DAT 2024 counseling had to summit their campus preferences. The window to submit campus preferences was open from May 21 (4 pm) to May 23 (4 pm). The preferences had to be entered in the order of priority. Note that the allotment of seats to the B.Des programme will be based on the campus option selected and merit rank of the candidate in NID DAT 2024. So, one must bear caution when entering their preferences.

The National Institute of Design (NID) has released the admission hanbooks for the B.Des and M.Des courses. It contains the list of exam cities for DAT Prelims exam for each course.As per information given in the M.Des Admission Handbook, the DAT Prelims exam in the following cities - Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata, Kurukshetra, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayawada.The candidate can select their choice of exam city when filling out the NID DAT 2024 application form.

The NID DAT exam is conducted is conducted in two stages. First, the candidate has to appear in DAT Prelims, and if shortlisted has to appear in DAT Mains.The results of DAT Prelims for B.Des will be declared on April 1, 2025, while results for the M.Des programme will be declared on February 17, 2025.The candidate will be able to check their results by logging into the result portal using their email ID and date of birth. Such candidates who get shortlisted has to next appear in DAT Mains.
