This career is for those people who are passionate about design and are artistic. Since this career involves designing homes/properties, and then executing those designs to create the environment that the client wants, the person should have excellent management and communication skills, as well as be creative with his/her work. Those people who are good at maintaining their spending according to a budget as well as people who have a good knowledge about various materials are people who should defiantly be looking at interior designing as a potential career path.
Moreover, people who have an eye for detail and enjoys solving puzzles would be an ideal interior designer. In India, Depending on the employer and one's experience the salary, including bonuses and commission for assistant interior designers ranges between Rs. 30,000 to Rs.40,000 per month. For senior interior designers, the salary, including bonuses and commission is approximately Rs. 800,000 to Rs. 3,000,000 per annum.

Graphic designers are required in so many industries like Advertisement industry, Print Industry, Web designing industry, etc. New designers must be aware of tools such as Photoshop, Gimp, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Blend or more. But, within 3-4 years of experience, a designer career comes to a standstill (unless you have a highly creative mind and you are assisting or working as an art director). Unlike a career in programming where there are various layers (programming, analysis, project management) designing is more of an individual genius than teamwork. The salary of a designer gets stagnated to a level of INR. 4 lacs - INR. 5 lacs even after 6 + years of experience in the industry.

The design is a growing field and it is finding new corners and platforms outside the already established ones in the trade. Leather design is one such field that is coming up in a big way. In order to make a good career in this industry as such no professional qualification or formal education is required. But having a formal education in this field will be always useful because the high paying jobs will be available only for the qualified people. There are various job roles available like Marketing, Leather Engineer etc. Good Package jobs would be available only for 15% people. Top colleges offering this course include NIFT, NID and FDDI.
