The Indian Institute of Information Technology is a nationally significant institution with a faculty of seasoned professionals, an emphasis on research and development, and the most up-to-date technical education programme. The entrance requirement for the flagship BTech programme at IIIT Dharwad is strictly entrance-based. A national exam, JEE Main, administered by NTA, is used to choose candidates. In addition to BTech programmes, IIIT Dharwad currently provides a PhD programme. PhD admission is contingent upon passing an interview and screening exam administered by IIIT Dharwad. For admission to the BTech programme at the Indian Institute of Information Technology Dharwad, a candidate must have earned at least a 75% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in their Class 12 Diploma from an accredited board.

All the candidates who qualify for JEE Advanced are eligible to register and appear for JoSAA counselling and seat allotment procedure. Based on their ranks and their preference of course and college, candidates will be able to seek admission in IIT Dharwad or desired IIT.  JEE Advanced registration will start on April 21, 2024 and on April 15 for foreign nationals. The application deadline for both Indian and foreign candidates is April 30, 2024.  JoSAA Registration process 2024 will begin tentatively on June 10, 2024, in an online mode.
