After passing intermediate or 10+2 one has to study Science subjects, such as food and nutrition, food Science and food technology. After passing graduate degree in any one of the above subject a Masters degree in Nutrition is required. After having post graduation degree for your betterment a doctoral degree will certainly add feather in your cap. You have to also appear in RD exams to become a registered dietician.
There are many universities in India offering B.Sc in food Science, nutrition and food technology. Mainly college of home Science in any university are running these courses. Some universities are also offering

Please decide what do you actually want to do? On one side you wish to become an education counselor, and on the other, you are asking about pursuing different specialisation in M.Sc. Please decide which career do you actually wish to take up and then ask questions related to same. Also, would be great if you can do prior research.

The students from any background can enroll into a dietician course. But, the colleges have different requirements. Some colleges prefer students with PCMB or PCB. You have to check the requirements. You are also eligible for certificate or Diploma courses before opting for a Bachelor's degree.
