Salary totally depend upon your fan base. And, also there is no fixed salary for any director. But, mostly the salary lies between INR. 5 crore to INR. 15 crore.

Film Direction in India is not at all qualification or degree based work anymore. There have been many examples where the degree wasn't there, but the degree of the direction was par excellent. To become a film director, you may pursue some graduation followed by the PG diploma studies or a PG Degree from the shared institutions.

In India, we see FTII-Pune as the best as it is directly related to movies and associated works. I am not suggesting any private institution though as there are many like Symbiosis and Amity for that.
