The hierarchy or the organizational set up of an advertising agency keeps both these profiles and do have a different scope of work as well as a profile for them.

There are specialisations offered through B.Sc and other technical degrees in the domain of mass media only where you may get more of direction and film-making learning.
However, I am on one to say that the degree of BMM is less capable of taking you to accomplish your dream of becoming a film director.
I shall suggest and share that a specialisation will always be needed. The course of film-making and production or degrees done from institutes like FTII or Whist

It depends on the director. If the director is good and his movies make money and gather golden statues then the studio offer him/her good paycheques. However, if the director is at the start of his long-term career, he's not given that much of freedom with respect to budget and facilities. But if he makes it good, the career lifts off like a rocket.
First-time studio directors generally have to sign for scale, roughly $250k with possible 2nd or 3rd pic options at perhaps 600 and 1 mil. If the director makes a big hit, they renegotiate any options

Direction and documentary production are not opposite domains and can never be. A director is part of the documentary production as well. The director may make informative/educational work, entertaining movies, animations, thrillers, romance or children movies. The direction is the most important thing.
Hence, direction is a comprehensive term whereas documentary production is a part of the main.

A course in direction cannot be done unless you do a Bachelor's Degree in the film making and production domain. It is made clear merely a certificate course cannot make someone a good editor to claim jobs at the best places.
I shall suggest that when a good job with growing possibilities is there one has to take up the assignment because mass media jobs are the best to do when they come to you. Once the hunt starts, it takes time.

Hi,
Necessary skills required to be a director:
Writing
Even if a director has never written a script in his life, he still needs to understand how one is written. Screenplays have specific three-act structures, and being able to recognize how a script adheres to this structure is an important skill in filmmaking. Often, a director will rewrite a script to put his own stamp on it, whether it is a simple polish for dialogue or a complete overhaul to meet his creative needs. Whatever the reason, doing this will be difficult without the ability to write.
Visual Storytelling
The written word on the scripts page is the start, but ultimately the
