Yes, you can think of doing engineering or B.Tech via distance education mode after completion of your Diploma. I am attaching a link that will give you information regarding different Institutions or colleges awarding engineering degree via distance education method. Many of these institutions allow lateral admission into second year also for Diploma holders who have studied for 3 years. For this you will have to see the webpage of your intended University and see what they are saying about this. I feel there should be no problem for you.
