Distance/Correspondence B.Tech

In the corporate world, regular BTech degrees are generally preferred over distance learning BTech degrees for several reasons:Quality and Credibility:Regular BTech programs involve rigorous coursework, extensive lab work, and close interaction with faculty, ensuring a comprehensive and in-depth learning experience. This translates to stronger technical skills and knowledge, which are highly valued by employers.Distance learning BTech programs, while potentially offering flexibility, may raise concerns about the quality of education and practical training received. The lack of hands-on lab experience and limited faculty interaction can impact the development of essential engineering skills.Accreditation plays a crucial role. In India,  currently,  there are no accredited distance BTech programs. This lack of official recognition by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) can further diminish the credibility of such degrees in the eyes of employers.

There are about 20 distance BTech CSE colleges in India. Of these, 14 colleges are privately owned and 1 by public/government organisations. Students can secure admission after passing Class 12 boards. Some of the popular distance BTech CSE colleges in India include Karnataka State Open University, Lucknow, Aryabhatta Degree College, Wisdom School of Management, Bangalore, Distance Learning Centre-Karnataka State Open University, Sandip University, Shivani College of IT and Management, Study and Lead Educational and Welfare Society, Aim Institute Of University Studies, and many others.Disclaimer: AICTE and UGC confirmed that B Tech Distance is not a valid course. Universities of India are not approved to run such courses in their college academics. The Supreme court ordered that without AICTE approval, no university can run B Tech courses.
