No, the recent UGC and AICTE guidelines have made it mandatory for institutes to refrain from offering courses in engineering in distance mode. These courses consist of practical applications, therefore need hands-on training. Even if some institutes offer engineering courses in distance education mode, still most institutes offer engineering programs in regular mode due to the course structure and lab works students need to do.

While both provide a BTech degree, the modes of learning are different. Distance/Correspondence BTech allows for more flexibility in terms of learning pace and location, but the content and standards of education should be equivalent to those of regular programmes. Regular BTech programmes typically offer more opportunities for hands-on experiences through laboratory work, workshops, and projects. While some Distance/Correspondence BTech programmes incorporate practical components, these may be limited or require students to arrange for local facilities.

Ofcourse, there are few to no differences between a regular BSc course and a Distance BSc course. Distance programs were specially designed for students who were unable to attend traditional on-campus courses, but still wished to get a degree. Additionally, BSc degrees from a UGC and DEB-recognized university are equally valid as a regular degree. However, some companies may prefer their candidates to have a regular BSc degree.
