No, work experience is not mandatory to pursue MBA, fresher's also pursue MBA. Companies do prefer graduates will offering pays as they need less effort to train experience students.

Usually, most companies don't give much importance to distance MBA from averagely ranked colleges. Rather go for professional courses which add value to your resume. You can check out courses on UpGrad, Coursera, EdX, etc.
