Distant course is useful for you if you are a working professional. As it would add value to your CV. But if you are not a working professional or is looking to take a break and pursue a degree, then you should consider doing MBA or PGDM. It is basically the same thing as it's just that MBA is a university program while PGDM is a program offered by the institutes themselves. There will be difference in the fee structure but the curriculum is almost same. Do look for the rankings and ROI while opting for any of the course i.e. MBA or PGDM.

Lot of universities offer MBA degree by distance learning. IGNOU is a excellent choice for MBA by distance learning. University also multiple one year diploma in various functions such as Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations etc. You may refer to following link for details of MBA distance learning:

They are not eligible unless the MBA is either part-time or a full time from an AICTE recognised university as AICTE does not recognise any distance learning program in management and engineering. However, you will be eligible to pursue PhD if your MBA is approved by distance education Bureau of UGC.
