Hello Sankarapillani,
MBA Distance means you will be connected with a institute and you will be provided the study materials and the online lecture packages. You only need to go to university at the time of exams. You could apply for the distance in SMU.
Good luck.

The passing percentage is 55% aggregate in one subject.
Eg.
Business Economics: split into 2 papers of 3 hours each- Paper I and paper II. You have to score a minimum of 55 marks in Paper I and min 55 marks in Paper II. Then the aggregate is calculated as (55+55)/2 = 110/2 = 55%.
If you read the manual carefully, you'll also understand that the min marks required to pass in one paper (not subject) is 45 marks or %. In that case, you will have to score at least 65% in the second paper of that subject.
With reference to the above example, if I score 45 marks in paper I of Bussiness Economics, I must score 65 marks in paper II of Bussiness

Akash its always better to do a regular full-time course. In this case, you have bright chances of placements as well you can opt for part-time /trainee in a company in the field you are interested in which will give you exposure. For admissions in MBA, you have to appear for entrance exams All the best.

Hi,
Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) or Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) or Masters in Business Administration (MBA) are both management courses at Masters level. Both the courses have a commercial orientation and it's difficult to differentiate between the two. MBA and PGDM are both business orientated courses. The main aim of the courses is to equip a person who wants to move up in the hierarchy and enter in to the management field, says Shiksha expert Nikhilesh Mathur. While both the courses have same outcomes in terms of employment prospective, there are some subtle differences.

You need to have 3+ years work experience to enroll for a distance MBA programme. I would also advice you to explore Executive MBA as an option as it is of shorter duration and the curriculum is also more relevant to work life.

Since you are employed. I would suggest you go in for an executive MBA from any of the top 20 MBA institutes. Executive MBAs are of shorter duration and also the curriculum is more relevant to the industry. You need to try and seek specialisation in a subject which is closer to your area of work.

Yes, Xavier's is one top institution for MBA studies. All the courses are accredited by UGC and for distance it is approved by DDE (Directorate of Distance Education). It will fetch you job until these boards are recognizing your certifications. Dual Specialization is the best way to hold interest in two different fields in one course. It will help you in the long run. All the very best.
