Hello,
Yes, you can do many course. Oracle/Mysql/DB2/DBA - This is one of the most reliable course options, but you will not get any work of software development on its basis, yet you can continue doing it, if you have interest in DBMS. NET/PHP - These are popular languages which are direct counterparts of Java. These are mainly used for light weight application development on the server side and client side. NET is also easy to master compared to the long Java Library. Java/J2EE - The server side software development of web is mostly done by this most secure language option. I do not think at all that any education done from an approved place with honesty can be looked down upon. While doing CAT Preparation, it may not be possible to devote full time to a regular course so doing a Distance Course is safeguarding your gap year. Suppose I am a BBA or B.A. And I am preparing for CAT for MBA. I may start doing some PG Diploma in Journalism and Mass Comm or Advertising and PR. That won't do any harm, rather I can present that I did not stop studying.

Firstly, I would suggest you to take up work post the BE course. This gives you proper hands-on corporate exposure with whatever you have studied. Is there any reason, like to enhance your practical or specialised skills in mechanical field for job prospects? Or is it altogether a shift, like a distance MBA? If anyway you are ready for further studies, my suggestion would be to get a couple of years of real-life professional experience. Figure out things and then make a move.

To pursue any Master's degree, be it a regular or in distance learning, you must hold a graduation degree (3 years). A Diploma is not enough to pursue Master's degree, you must get a Bachelor's degree first. Hope this helps.

You can but I don't feel it to be a wise decision because B.Pharma is a professional degree grasping in 4 years of your life. If you do M.Sc. then your pharma degree will hold the same place as B.Sc. Chemistry degree will hold. So it is better to go for M.Pharma and then Ph.D.
However, it's just an advice; the final call is yours.
All the best.
