To be eligible for BA admission at BRAOU, candidates need to pass Class 12 or its equivalent examination, or Class 12 from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)/ Andhra Pradesh Open School Society (APOSS)/ TS Open School Society (TSOSS). Moreover, the students who have passed two-year ITI or two-year vocational course after SSC or 3-year polytechnic courses are eligible for admission.

Candidates seeking admission to Dr Br Ambedkar Open University MBA course must have passed graduation of a minimum of three years duration with at least 50% aggregate (45% for reserved category candidates). The fresh graduates from allied subjects vide the Faculty of Engineering/Technology/Medicine/Pharmacy/ Law, and Architecture of any University recognised by the UGC or Charted Accountants/Cost & Works Accountants/ Company Secretaries are also eligible to apply. BRAOU admission for a two-year postgraduate MA course is open to all the citizens of India who hold a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from an Indian University which is recognised by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities. Aspirants must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at later stages of admission. The selection for MA will be based on merit in the last qualifying exam.

The Government of Tamil Nadu established the Periyar University at Salem on 17th September 1997 as per the provisions of the Periyar University Act, 1997. The University got the 12 (B) and 2f status from the University Grants Commission, New Delhi and respectively accredited by the NAAC with A grade in 2015. The University bagged 83th rank among Indian Universities by MHRD NIRF 2020. Because University has been established by government. Of Tamilnadu through an act and get approved by UGC, hence its all courses have full validity for higher education and employment.
