Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University (BAOU) Eligibility

Candidates seeking admission at any of the certificate programmes shall have passed at least Class 8 to Class 12. The eligibility requirements can vary from one specialisation to another. Moreover, the applicant shall be of at least 18 years of age to be eligible for admission in a certificate course. Candidates seeking admission in the BBA first year should have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam Or Class 10 with ITI, NCVT/GCVT, GSHEB/GOSE Class 12 English exam or Class 10 with a three-year Diploma are also eligible. Additionally, for direct admission to second-year, students shall have passed Class and have a one-year Diploma in the relevant subject. Furthermore, for admission in the third year, the aspirant should have completed an advanced Diploma in the relevant subject as per the chosen BBA specialisation.

BAOU allows admission to either the first or second year of the course. Candidates taking admission in the first year should have a valid bachelor’s degree from a recognised university. While for the students taking admission in the second year, a PGD in social work after graduation from a recognised university is necessary.

Aspirants who have passed class 12 or an equivalent exam from a recognised board are eligible to apply for a BA course in BAOU Ahmedabad. Candidates shall have the pass certificate with them at the time of form filling or at the time of admission (if required). In addition, the candidates who have passed B.P.P. examination are also eligible to apply.

Admission to the MA course is offered based on the aspirant’s performance in the last qualifying examinations. Hence, the applicant’s aggregate in the bachelor’s or UG course is taken into consideration. It is further also necessary that each applicant fulfils the minimum eligibility requirements – a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.
