For admission into this institute, one should meet the following-The candidate should have scored a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC & ST category) in the 10+2 examination.Should have appeared and qualified Maharashtra Common Entrance Test.

There are generally high cutoff marks for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MH CET) Law, for admission at Dr. D. Y. Patil Law College.The required score for first round and last round was 98.1 and 96.18 respectively for B.A.LL.B.With this type of score required,  it is very difficult to secure admission at the institute.
