Candidates who are selected for admission at DYPCET have to produce the documents specified by the institute. Some of the documents are specific to the category to which the candidate belongs. Once the CAP rounds are over, aspirants can apply on the institute website of DYPSOET. Aspirants need to pay an application fee to register for a course. Dr. D.Y. Patil School of Engineering and Technology application forms are usually released for vacant CAP and institute-level seats. The institute usually releases the form in November and continues till December. Candidates can apply online for the preferred course. Once the application process is over, the institute releases the merit list in the same week. 

Dr. D.Y. Patil School of Engineering and Technology offers seats to candidates based on their entrance exam scores or merit in the last qualifying exam. The seats for UG and PG courses is offered via MHT CET CAP. Aspirants with a valid score in JEE Main or MHT CET can apply for CAP for BE seats. For ME, aspirants must qualify MHT CET M.Tech or GATE. 

Dr. D. Y. Patil School of Engineering and Technology Pune does not offer direct admission. Candidates need to first registration for accepted entrance exam followed by MHT CET CAP for UG and PG courses. Admission to BE is based on JEE Main or MHT CET scores whereas, GATE or MHT CET M.Tech is considered for ME courses. Besides, aspirants who are applying for Diploma programmes do not have to appear for an entrance exam. They are selected based on their merit in the last qualifying exam.
