Yes, Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute is as good as MCE, infact a lot, better than MCE- Meenakshi College of Engineering. Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute has an edge over MCE in terms of the overall rating, placements and the average salary offered. Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute is a NAAC A acreditted college. There are around 30 programs (comprising of different UG and PG courses) offered at Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute which multiple courses in each program. B.Tech is so far the top course at Dr MGR Educational and Research. The exam accepted for admission to B.Tech at Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute is JEE Mains and TNEA.

JEE exams for B.Tech NEET for B.Pharma are primarily accepted but you can also gain admission on the basis of your 12th board scores and /or Institute Entrance Exam. That depends on what you are comparing it to . But surely it is one of the best colleges in chennai considering the variety in the courses it offers. there are other good colleges like VIT Chennai and ofcourse IIT Madras but they are not in main city and also only offers a handful of streams in courses which are B.Tech and Buisness. but Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute provides many sorts of courses including MBBS BA etc.Thank You.
