B.Tech in CSE has better placement at Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute than ECE for obvious reasons, because even though the ECE branch has been on a rise in last few years computer skills are still the most demanded skills in the industry.  So, if you are getting both branches you should try to get into CSE unless you have some interest in ECE other than placement.

The placements are comparable and since there is no data for last 2 years of placement statistics for MCE its hard to say. But overall Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute does provides somewhat better placements than the later. The former has many infrastructural benfits and last year Google also arrived into Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute which is rare for a college on that scale. So, Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute is on a upward track when it comes to placements.

The top recruiters of Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute are mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, HCL, and Infosys etc. Last year Google also arrived on the campus and gave some offers to the students.  The median package was something around INR 5.6 lakh, while the highest and the lowest package were about INR 9 and 3 lakh respectively, which are decent and worth consideration.

That depends on what you mean by "Directly" I suppose that you mean without JEE/ NEET, and if thats so, then yes you surely can based upon your 12th percentage. But its highly recommendable that you appear for JEE/NEET as it opens doors for other Nationally Recognized colleges like NITs and GFTIs and if you have already given and not getting any college than yes you can surely gain an admission by 12th percentage basis  in this college.

Dr. MGR Institute would be a better choice. The packages of both the colleges are comparable, but the MGR college would provide a better campus life to you as it has wifi campus and well-equipped auditoriums unlike the MCE college which does not has any of these. Since it is very older than MCE, there is a better alumni network for the college. So, you can get better recommendations when you jump into internships and colleges. If you are getting same branch in both the colleges, than surely Dr MGR is the one you should go to.Thank you.
