Yes, it is right to pursue a CS branch in any IIIT rather than a core branch in DTU/NSUT/NIT until and unless you are interested in any of the core branches as I am more interested in Industrial engineering so I've chosen it over any other branch.

I don't know much about NDIM but as it is a private college definitely DTU is better when it will come to show on a CV.

You can get low-level NIT in the CSAB round (outside Delhi). But it's a hard call very few chances.
