MAM (or AE) branch have around 90 students in their batch. And every year the number of students in this branch are increasing say by 10. Well, getting into DTU is not that difficult. Getting a score of 180+ will be safe for this branch. About placement, I will be honest, out of 90 students only about 7-10 students get placed in automotive companies. 5-8 students get placed in core mechanical companies. About 10-14 students get into non-tech companies. Rest of the students either go for Civil services or higher studies.

DTU is far better than APIIT Panipat for pursuing B.Tech CSE. Many of my friends are pursuing B.Tech CSE from DTU and have always given positive remarks.

Private colleges use money to get higher rankings. For glance, SRM is placed 2nd or 3rd in such ranking. But, do you think placement and education in SRM is better than IITs, which are placed lower than SRM? I am not saying that Thapar University is a bad choice, but DTU is a state government College of Delhi. But, the quality of DTU is gradually decreasing because of increase in intake of students every year. Other reasons considered are average quality of faculty, No renovation of labs, No change in infrastructure, Hiked in yearly fees (about 1.5lacs per year worth increase of 10% in subsequent year), etc.

Rankings mainly mark colleges based on the Research publications, Research facilities, Placements and college staff. In DTU, students mainly come for placements and a good campus life. Research field is not doing well in DTU. But, if you are a research person, please consider NITs and IIITs a better choice since DTU is mainly the epitome of competitive coding and placement driven students. Even the curriculum has subjects focusing mainly in the industry. Rankings aren't always trustworthy. Infact, most of the times they are fraud, being bias towards the institute which pays more. NIRF is a government organisation, but trust me that doe

Law, government entity has to give equal opportunity to each and every student. Because of this, normally speaking, you will find no Public Sector Unit coming for placements in any of the colleges. Many of the PSU's have now taken the safe route of asking candidates to appear for GATE and based on the score in GATE they are called for interview round.

DTU is the best college in that area. You can't compare it with any college in UP.
