There is very much use of pursuing integrated B.Tech/ M.Tech course. You can save 1 year of your study duration by pursuing this course. Generally, many candidates first opt for B.Tech programme in any discipline like Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical etc. Which is of 4 years duration. Hello Aditya,
When a student opts for integrated 5 years M.Sc in an IIT or NIT then the student is giving away his choice of B.Tech in that Institute. This is so since you have chosen M.Sc in one of the Science subjects and not B.Tech in that particular institute. Hence if you have chosen M.Sc as your choice in a five-year integrated course then obviously you cannot think of getting any B.Tech degree.

Hi Ranjan,
You need to clear GATE exam. As M.Tech could be pursued only when GATE exam is cleared and once you clear that you also become eligible for Ph.D. So you should clear GATE exam.
