The institutes which assures 100% placements, they are good, but they charge more. Great Eastern-Mumbai, Anaglo Eastern-Mumbai. As of my knowledge above two institutes having 100% placements and they have own ships. I have friends in Great Eastern they said if a cadet not selected for any placements then great Eastern will recurit to their ships. But great Eastern fee :465000. Rules are very stringent and foolish too. Don't ask me about rules because once I heard while my friend is telling I got too funny and irritating too. You required more patience too survive in above colleges. Not only that most of the marine institutes are same except AMET in Chennai.

I can't differentiate which is better, because both has different scope and career path. You can select any programme according to your interest. Selecting course is all about passion. Your passion for your course, and for your future career. Because the secret to happiness is being able to love whatever it is you do in life.
