It's good to know your dreams of doing graduation in engineering. Every state has its own equivalence and it's published by concerned DTE of Tech Edu of the state. But I feel that what you are seeking is allowed. But please ensure that you score handsomely in your diploma exam.

I feel that it's best to avoid this route. 50% of fresh graduates passing out of college are remaining jobless. I would advise you to think of doing graduation via distance mode in some other subject.

In view of the recent decision of the Supreme Court of India, it's better to avoid doing engineering graduation via distance education mode. You better think of different field like commerce, finance, fine arts, BCA, microbiology, etc.
