Syllabus of both BTech Electrical and BTech Electronics overlap up to 70 to 80%. Major difference between branch is on following major Electives : (a) Electrical has subjects such as Power, Generation and Distribution, Power management, Control , Instrumentation , SCADA etc. (b) Electronics has subjects as Electronic devices, Integrated circuits, microwave, Microprocessor, Communication Systems Digital Signal processing etc.

Hey,
Electronics and Communication engineering is an evergreen field to study and remains always in demand. You can have a bright career in the field. You just need to select best university to study having excellent placement records and infrastructure and study hard. Not all colleges provide extended placement assistance hence it would be better to go for B.tech if you can. Some college suggestions -

Hey Abijayan,
You are having very good marks in your board exams but not a good score in JEE Mains. You may get NIT based on this score or may not also. You shouldn't rely only on this and apply for some other best institutes also. Private universities also provide quality education with best infrastructure along with impressive placements. If we talk about E&C branch its a combination of Electrical & Computer Science. So i suggest that you may appear in Electrical Branch & also a course of Digital Communication. If u go for Computer Science than it would be great opportunity in your career.
