As per the curriculum of ECE, there will be subjects on electronics and communication like analog electronics, digital electronics, microprocessor, microcontroller, embedded system, network theory, Signals and systems, DSP, analog & digital communication, satellite communication etc. In EEE electrical core subjects like power system, transmission & distribution, electrical machine, etc., and some basic subjects of electronics. Short answer-
If you strictly have to choose between these two branches in the Indian academic system, go for IT if you want to be closer to a CSE program. The IT program though contains courses encompassing the management and commercial aspects of the industry, you'll still get the minimum or even more coursework required for a career as a software developer or computer scientist in the future.

I) Your B.Tech required to be cleared with no or very minimum backlog. Ii) Your should have strong knowledge in your domain. Iii) You should be trained in soft skill. Iv) Take some special industrial training related to your field. V) Moreover, you should be smart enough to face interview seriously and sportingly. I hope this will help. Best wishes.

There are many PSU companies and Indian Railway department where you can get the job after Diploma in ECE. If you have got at least 60% and above marks then you can easily get the jobs. Information about the vacancies in these companies keeps coming in the daily newspaper or the Employment Newspaper. The PSU companies where you have the chance of getting jobs are:
- SAIL
- NTPC
- BSNL
- MTNL
- BEL
- BHEL.
