EC is a good branch and is high in demand. If you are Interested in it, then it would be beneficial for you. However, make sure to pursue the course from a good and reputed college. The placement and quality of education is also crucial so choose a college wisely.

First of all, I would like to tell you that both the colleges are not good enough to have core electronics placement. (That is the worst part of this field). It's good for students who want to pursue Masters or M.Tech. If you are looking for a job after BE, then you will have to compromise and work in IT industry. Both branches can appear for Telecommunication placements but EXTC has better cards there. Think twice before taking these fields. But if you have only two options, then choose Somaiya.
Hope this helps. All the best :)
