Hi,
Off course, an ECE Graduate can be a part of Automobile Industry. Since most of the vehicles today consists of various microprocessors/microcontrollers and sensors for their automatic locomotion. So this kind of automation work can only be done either by an Electronics Engineer or by an Electrical Engineer. Also the production plant works on PLCs which can only be programmed by ECE or EEE graduate student. All the Automobiles will have embedded systems and communication systems in them. No, you can't join Diploma or any other full time course if you are pursuing your current degree in regular mode. All the best for your future.

You can get admission in VIT Vellore for M.Tech in VLSI in either category 2 or 3. But it's not possible for you to get admission in Embedded Systems in Category 1.
