Hello Sourav, As per data released by HRD ministry, almost 50% fresh engineering graduates could not get placed. However, it does not mean there are fewer jobs. It only means you need to be in at least 50 percentile to get a job! Yes, there are entrance exams for admission in engineering. Either JEE Mains or state CET or Entrance test of innumerable deemed universities. The syllabus is almost same I.e. 12th of CBSE.

There are many exam:-
1. IIT JEE Mains
JEE Mains marks is not only for IIT and NIT. Through this, you may also take admission in OJEE Madhya Pradesh, Delhi etc. And, if your marks is good in JEE, then you may take admission in almost 80% B.Tech engineering college in India.
2. West Bengal - WBJEE
3. Uttar Pradesh engineering UPSEE (UPTU)
4. Jharkhand engineering (JCECE)
5. ICFAI (private college)
6. Bits Pilani form
7. Vit Vellore
8. Bangalore engineering - COMEDK
And, many more you may check many college through google. Just search on internet. You may also take help from Shiksha.com.

Hello Derek,
There are plenty of entrance exams that you can give. However, must are CET of your own state and JEE Mains. Then the exams conducted by private or deemed to be universities like Mani Pal, BITS, etc. You should decide your appetite for studying and appearing for different exams. Your patience and capabilities count. That's all.

Hello Rachana,
Some entrance exams have negative marks while some don't. For example, JEE, BITSAT and AEEE have negative marking while SRMJEEE and VITEEE don't.
So, if you mention any particular exam then I may tell you its marking scheme.
