First, a bit of a background. I did my mechanical engineering from a decent state level university college and I got placed into IBM in the final year. Having no other options, I joined IBM after college. But I wanted to work in a field of my engineering background, and so I also took up GATE coaching at ACE Academy. The Salary of an RRB JE is INR 35,400 per month (basic pay). RRB JE Salary After 7th Pay Commission;
Pay Scale Band: INR 29,300 to INR 34,800
Grade Pay: INR 4,200
Pay Band (VI CPC): INR 29,300 to 34,800
Grade Pay (VI CPC): INR 4,800
Pay Band (VII CPC): INR 37,200 to 1,39,200

Preparations:
1- Visit the official website to learn about the products BEL makes and try to include them in your answers as examples (about the company, when it was established, yearly turnover, etc. , like basic information about the company).

Hi, if you want to pursue your career in defence, and if you want to join defence forces, then you can go for Computer Science and Engineering branch or Electronics and Communication Engineering branch. This would ultimately help you to reach your target well.
