If your diploma course in engineering is recognised by the state council for technical education and AICTE and is considered equivalent to a polytechnic diploma then I don't think there is any problem.You are eligible for junior engineer's post. All the best.

You may do ITIL certification for career growth in ITES industry. After few years you may do PMP certification also.
