The placements in MIT for mechanical engineering is quite decent. Big companies come but they come a little late, in the 8th semester mostly. Most people say that placements in mechanical engineering in MIT are not so great. I won't deny that but it's not bad either. On an average you get an annual package of 5-6 lakhs.

Indian Governments both at centre & states are spening a large portion of thier budget for Infrastructure building. This has created lots of career opportunities for civil engineers. This trend will continue for some more time.

Robotics is best in Germany, USA or Japan. You may choose for master's or integrated p.hd but might need some work experience before that. Another option is an excellent research proposal.

It should always be your choice.
As far as job opportunities are considered B.Tech would have an upper hand if done from a reputed institute like IIT, NIT, Lovely professional University, SRM university etc.But if you would like to go for Higher studies and you don't want to pursue engineering you can choose B.Sc. . It will be a time consuming process then.
