Hello Sudesh,
If you pass exam for lateral entry, then marks of diploma shouldn't be counted at all. Diploma marks will only decide eligibility.
Yes, both VJTI & Somaiya do give admissions in 2nd year for diploma holders but then seats are limited.
Best wishes.

MCA is open to graduates of all disciplines. Therefore, majority of syllabus of first year MCA is a repeat for students who join MCA after BCA. Lateral entry MCA students do not suffer any bias or discrimination. If you do Lateral entry MCA from leading universities, you will not be any disadvantage.

Hello kalyani,
SASTRA University admits students without entrance exams only. There are two streams to apply.
stream 1: JEE marks and board exam marks ( 70%of seats).
stream 2: only board exam marks (30%of seats).
There is no entrance. The admissions are purely based on merit.
The website is www.sastra.edu and the last date to apply is June 10.

After pursuing Diploma, you will have more practical knowledge and experience as compared to B.Tech students but since lateral entry seats are very few so you may face difficulty in getting admission in good colleges. Also with Diploma, you can get jobs in various PSUs. So, pursuing Diploma is also good but if you can go for class 12th and then B.Tech that will also be same.
