Both of the procedure, which you mentioned are equally tough and challenging and it depends on your knowledge and skill set. It depends on an individual to decide whether to pursue admission through the regular way (JEE Mains) or through lateral entry (LEET).

Lateral entry is not available in IITs and NITs only. Otherwise, each state university conducts its own entrance exam for lateral entry students. So, you can get good colleges also after doing Diploma in engineering.

Only one entrance exam is there for the same.

No colleges provide lateral entry admission in distance mode.

According to me, PEC doesn't conduct lateral entry admissions. For more information you may reach the website of PEC.

IP University is the best choice. It conducts its own entrance exam for lateral entry every year.

Well, according to my knowledge, Bangalore is best city for B.Tech in CS. Now, I'll tell you some learning centres for that: M.S Ramaiya and Alliance college of engineering, etc.

You can get lateral entry,if your diploma is UGC approved.

Seats in various colleges are divided on the basis of different categories depending on the college and the state. It is decided as per the directives of the state government and the college management. It varies from one college to another. So, kindly contact the respective college in which you wish to take the admission.
