The procedure is simple, you have to appear for an entrance test of the respective college. If you clear it you will be called in for counseling and you will be admitted directly to the 2nd year.

Yes, you will get admission through lateral entry for B.Tech, but distance education in engineering is not possible because engineering college does not provide distance education.

None of the university in USA, New Zealand or UK give admission in B.Tech through lateral entry.
