Yes, it is a very good way to pursue both. Also, you will get two degree, one is of Diploma and other is of B.Tech course, which will increase your experience. But, be attentive while pursuing the B.Tech course, because it is more practical based than the Diploma degree. It might led you to face some problem in starting. Also, as coin has two faces you have to face some disadvantage and advantage too while doing B.Tech regular way and you are in a lateral student.

Hi Kevin,
Every country has colleges with different rules, anywhere you apply you will find colleges accepting Diploma while some not accepting Diploma. On the whole, you can apply with a Diploma to US universities, you have to take the SAT or the ACT and apply for Bachelor's degree. If there are additional requirements then the university will tell you. It is therefore very important that you email them and enquire.

B.Tech lateral entry is specifically designed for students who pursue Diploma after class 10th. Regular B.Tech gives you more option to get into the top colleges across the country via exams like JEE, BITSAT, MHTCET, VITEEE, etc. Not all top colleges accept a lateral entry. Hence, will recommend you to opt for regular B.Tech
Top companies prefer all, I.e. top college, good grades and sound knowledge. Top companies don't visit mediocre colleges. Hence, you have to be the best in all the domains.
