Getting admission in MCA through lateral entry is a very good decision. The great part of lateral entry is that it will save your 1 precious year and it will make you job ready. The good institutes which offer lateral entry in MCA are:
(1) Amity University, Noida – This indeed is a good university for learning computer applications. Its placement index is also high. For lateral entry admission you have to clear through a certain entrance test.
(2) IMS Noida - This is the well-known university for MCA. Various big companies have recruited the students from this college. You can get admission here with just clearing an entrance exam.
(3) Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi - This is a state government recognized college.
According to me, out of the given good colleges, the best college for MCA lateral entry is GGSIPU because it's a government college which has good number of colleges affiliated to this.

Yes, you can but there are certain conditions which one has to fulfil:
*One must have completed his 1st year without any backlog/reappear.
*One should have the minimum percentage required in eligibility qualification of current year (in which student is seeking migration) .
*Student has to submit Migration certificate and Character certificate from head of present institute / university from which he/she is migrating.
*Mapping of transcripts is done and for this one has to pay mapping charges . If this goes well and there are no issues in mapping , one can join the university.
*After joining he supposed to spend 2 or more years in university.

Eligibility for B.Tech Lateral Entry:
The students who have scored 60% and above in the Diploma in engineering course from State Board of Technical Education or any other recognized institution can apply for the graduation program.
Only a pass in Diploma is enough for the students from backward communities.
Final year candidates are also eligible to attend the test.
How to prepare:
Revise the subjects you have studied in your diploma course.
It is fully based on Diploma course and Mathematics is based on 11the and 12th class so you should concentrate on it and try to solve previous year's papers.
Do proper time management because the mathematics part of Lateral Entry Test is lengthy, and you have to attempt each and every section to pass, as there is sectional cut-off.
