Yes, you are still eligible for engineering in India even if you take Mathematics at the Standard Level (SL) in the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has introduced new guidelines for admission to engineering programs in India from the academic session 2021-22. As per the new guidelines, candidates who have studied Mathematics as a subject in class XII or equivalent examination are eligible for admission to engineering programs. However, the AICTE has not specified any particular level of Mathematics for eligibility. Hence, students who have studied Mathematics at the SL level in the IB programme are also eligible to apply for engineering programs in India, provided they fulfill other eligibility criteria mentioned by the respective institutes. It is recommended that you check the eligibility criteria of the engineering programs you are interested in applying to, as some institutes may have specific requirements regarding Mathematics.
