Engineering in Pune

COEP and MIT are both good colleges and among the top most in Maharashtra. But among the two COEP is the winner. COEP has been ranked one in Maharashtra after the IITs and NITs. According to MHRD rankings COEP is ranked 24th while MIT is on the 94th rank.
Generally speaking COEP blows MIT out of the water. COEP is much well-known and trusted among recruiters as compared to MIT. Last time COEP had around 85% placements for CSE (this number seems less as the students who didn't accept the offers are also included) and the average salary was around 7-8 LPA for CSE department which is more compared to MIT.
COEP in also better in academics and extra-curricular as compared to MIT. What I have learnt from staying one year in Tamil Nadu is that COEP is well known all over India but the same is not the case with MIT.
So go for COEP over MIT.

Pune Institute of Computer Technology (PICT) was specially founded for imparting education in computer science and IT. It provides only three courses in B.Tech which are computer engineering, electronics and telecommunication and information technology while MIT provides degrees in almost all conventional branches. Talking about academics, PICT has an edge when it comes to CSE and IT. I have some friends pursuing IT there who confirmed upon this. The quality of education is pretty good. MIT also is a well-reputed college and has a high demand for CSE and IT. Apart from that, MIT is known for its extra curricular activities and campus life as such. I would suggest going through the syllabus of both the colleges and taking into consideration factors like location, campus, and future goals before making a decision. I would suggest you consider VIT, Pune also. It is better than MIT and almost same as PICT when it comes to CSE.
