Well, IITs are the top choice of every engineer aspirant in India.
But according to rank,
1-IIT Kharagpur
2-IIT Bombay
3-BITS Pilani
4-IIT Delhi
And, so on.
In NITs,
1- NIT Warangal
2- NIT Trichy
3- NIT Suratkal
If we see in the world, the top engineering college is MIT.

You need to keep your basic concepts clear. You should study from NCERT books for strengthening the basic concepts. Try as much application based problems as possible. You need to sit for 3 hours and in order to solve these problems. Try and solve all the previous years question papers.
