The only way you can truly understand and master the electronics and communication field is through practical work. Basics of electronics should be clear (first couple year's curriculum). I guarantee you'll face difficulties later on if you're not clear with basics. Start working on the latest techs of the field as soon as you can. With the pace that the technology is advancing, it is highly probable that you'll be taught something that has been replaced half a decade ago. (I was studying analog TV). State technical boards conduct lateral entry exam for admission in the 2nd year after ITI/12th non-medical, you can take this test. As well as many private colleges provide direct admission just on the basis of the merit in ITI.
