The eligibility criteria of IIM-A for PGP programme is a Bachelor degree with minimum 50% of marks for general and 45% for reserved categories from a recognised University. Selection process : The selection of the candidates for admission in PGP programme at IIMA is a two-step process. The candidates are short-listed for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) and Personal Interview (PI) from among the candidates who have a valid CAT score. The CAT sectional cutoff is 70 for each section, while the overall cutoff is 80 percentile for general candidate. So you have to first complete your graduation with at least 50% of marks than appear in CAT exam and obtained very high percentile above 98 for selection in IIM-A.

Mechatronics engineering is a relatively new professional course that entered the scene recently in India. This is combination of Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical & Telecom engineering. Application of mechatronics results in synchronizing a mechanical structure with its control, using electronic systems like an industrial robot. Career scope: The field of mechatronics is very promising, when it comes to job opportunities. Mechatronics is a combination of various fields of engineering. Due to this very fact, the field of mechatronics has wide areas of applications. Some areas where the knowledge of mechatronics is applied are- Robotics, Telecom sector, Mechanical systems, Electrical systems, biomedical systems, and Automation, Nanotechnology, Metallurgy and Bio mechatronics. Some common job types and opportunities available in front of mechatronics graduates are- Robotics engineer, Scientist/ Research engineer, Software developer/ Programmer, Control systems engineer, Automation engineer, Automation systems designer, Machine designer and Mechatronics engineer. Starting salary is generally around the region of INR 2.5 to INR 5 Lacs per year.
