Candidates must have a master's degree with a minimum cumulative GPA of 55% in order to be eligible to apply for the UGC NET however, there is a 5% relaxation for reserved categories. You may also participate in your final post-graduation year. The eligibility requirements for assistant professorships and JRFs under UGC NET 2022 differ. The applicant must be in possession of a Masters degree in the pertinent field from an accredited university. The maximum age for JRF has been raised from 30 to 31 years old. To become a teacher in India, it is very important for candidates to have a Bachelors degree in education (B.Ed). One can also pursue a Masters degree in the same (M. Ed) to add to their qualification and to increase ones employability. Ed. Diploma in Education (D. Ed. ) is a 2 year certified teacher training course after 12th that will equip you with the knowledge required to teach at elementary schools (as nursery school teachers). The total number of seats as per 2020-21 update is 386 in the MA English course of Delhi University. The total seats in through Entrance-based admissions in MA English are : 193 only. The total seats through Merit-based admissions in MA English are :193 only.
Admission Process:

There are 2 modes of admission - Merit or Direct and Entrance exam.
Candidates who have not graduated from University of Delhi, have to apply through Entrance mode.
Candidates who have graduated from University of Delhi can choose to apply through Merit mode or Merit + Entrance mode or Entrance only mode (must have secured a minimum aggregate of 60% in graduation to apply through Merit mode or Merit + Entrance mode).
