Environmental engineering has immense scope in India for professionals who are qualified in chemical, biological, thermal, radioactive or even mechanical engineering as environmental engineering is a diverse field and requires people from diverse background. Moreover, professionals from process engineering, environmental chemistry, water and sewage treatment, waste reduction management, pollution prevention, etc. are required in large numbers.

Environmental engineering is a niche branch and currently, it does not have very big demand. However, global environment challenges and awareness is slowly generating demand for environmental engineers and it will continue to grow. In the long run, environmental engineers have good scope.

B.Sc Environmental Science is a graduate level course that deals mainly with the study of environment. The duration of this bachelor level course is 3 years.
The course includes the study on the factors affecting environment and its associated ecosystem. Concepts of Biodiversity, Climatic change, Hazardous waste management, etc form part of the course study. Atmospheric pollution and its effect on environment are also included in the course curriculum of B.Sc Environmental Science.
