The prelims test will consist of three two papers i.e. General Studies & Engineering Aptitude and Specific Discipline Paper. The prelims exam will be objective type (multiple choice questions). The exam will be held in offline mode (pen-paper based.The UPSC IES Syllabus is a relatively easier one than the IAS Syllabus. From the scope of exam pattern to syllabus for both exams, there is a huge difference.
