The last date to apply for the IES 2025 exam is October 8, 2024. The Union Public Service Commission released the UPSC ESE (IES) 2024 notification on September 18, 2024. With the release of official notification, the Commission also activated the IES 2025 applications. The Commission provided 20 days to fill out the IES 2025 application. The UPSC will conduct the IES 2024 prelims exam on February 9, 2025 at the designated exam centres.

The Union Public Service Commission released the UPSC Engineering Service (ESE) 2024 notification on its official website - ssc.nic.in. The Commission also activated the UPSC ESE (IES) 2024 application with the release of official notifcation. The last date to apply for the UPSC ESE (IES) 2024 application is September 26, 2023. The Commission notified 167 vacancies in the official notification. The Commission conducted the IES prelims 2024 exam on February 18, 2024.

UPSC ESE IES 2023 admit card has been released online on June 5, exactly three weeks before the IES 2023 main exam date. The Commission will conduct the IES main exam (written) on June 25. The IES exam centre was mentioned in the official admit card only and there is no other way to know the exam centre. The Commission released the IES main exam date in its official exam calendar released last year in May. The IES main exam 2023 will be conducted offline in pen and paper mode. The candidates will be required to write the essay-type answers in the main exam.

There are no restrictions regarding the attempts in the IES exam. The candidates can appear in the IES exam till they fulfil the age criteria prescribed in the IES notification.

The candidates will be required to carry the photo identity proof, as mentioned in the IES application, with the IES admit card. IES prelims exam will be conducted on February 19.

IES 2023 Prelims result was released online on March 3. ESE IES exam 2023 was conducted offline on February 19, 2023. There are two papers in the IES prelims exam and the marks secured in the prelims exam are considered for the final merit list. The Union Public Service Commission UPSC released the IES 2023 admit card on January 27.

The Commission is expected to release the UPSC ESE IES 2023 admit card in the first week of June. The Commission will conduct the IES 2023 main exam on June 25. The Commission is expected to release the UPSC ESE IES 2023 Detailed Application Form, The IES main exam will be a descriptive type exam where the candidates will be required to write essay-type conventional answers. The eligible candidates who cleared the IES 2023 prelims exam will be able to fill out the IES main exam form after login.

The Indian Railways will now recruit officers through the IRMS exam, and only the prelim stage will be common to the UPSC CSE; the other two stages have separate exam structures. Both ways are good; if you want to join for generalist positions through IRMS, CSE is better, whereas if you want to become a specialist, ESE is better.
