Ethical Hacking Eligibility

Start with the basics: Earn your A+ certification and get a tech support position. After some experience and additional certification (network+ or CCNA) move up to a network support or administration role and then to network engineer after a few years. Next, put some time into earning security certifications (Security+, CISSP, or TICSA) and find an information security position. While you're there, try to concentrate on penetration testing and get some experience with the tools of the trade. Then work towards the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) certification offered by the International Council of Electronic Commerce Consultants (EC-Council for short). At that point, you can start marketing yourself as an ethical hacker. For a hacker, networking know-how is vital; but make sure that you gain experience in related areas as well. Discover and play with Unix/Linux commands and distributions. Make sure you also learn some programming-maybe C, LISP, Perl, or Java. And spend some time with databases such as SQL. Soft skill hacking isn't all technical. It also requires so-called soft skills, just as any other IT job does. You'll need a strong work ethic, very good problem-solving and communications skills, and the ability to say motivated and dedicated. Ethical hacker also need street smarts, people skills, and even some talent for manipulation, since at times they need to be able to persuade others to disclose credentials, restart or shut down systems, execute files, or otherwise knowingly or unknowingly help them achieve their ultimate goal. You'll need to master this aspect of the job, which people in the business sometimes call "social engineering," to become a well-rounded ethical hacker. Stay legal. It's important never to engage in "black hat" hacking-that is, intruding or attacking anyone's network without their full permission. Engaging in illegal activities, even if it doesn't lead to a conviction, will likely kill your ethical hacking career. Many of the available jobs are with government-related organizations and require security clearances and polygraph testing. Even regular companies will perform at least a basic background check.

What is Certified Ethical Hacking?
Ethical hackers often employ penetration testing techniques, to check how far the information network system of an organization can be hacked. These penetration testing techniques can be learned by only those students who take up the certified ethical hacking examination. At present V9 is the CEH exam which is equivalent to EC 312-50 exam. In order to apply for this exam, a student is required to have completed his training at an accredited training centre.
Eligibility for Ethical Hacking Exams:
A candidate who wants to do the course in Ethical Hacking should have done his Bachelors in computer science or is an IT graduate. This background enables a student to understand easily the basics of computer network system. During the entrance test of the course, a candidate will be asked questions from the area of web servers, operating system, programming skills and networking protocols.

In order to get a good placement an Ethical Hacker should have deep knowledge about networking field and SQL, besides being an expert programmer. And most of all a candidate should have a deep interest, knowledge and passion for his field. He must keep himself updated about the recent developments in his field. Some of the latest soft-wares in the field of hacking are Cain and Abel, Nessus, Nmap, Net Stumbler, SQL map etc.
Salary
A fresher certified hacker, in the beginning, will get a salary in the range of Rs. 20, 000 to 25,000, which is a good amount for beginners to earn and learn. As soon as a candidate gets enough numbers of projects to claim his experience, soon his salary will go up. In just 2 or 3 years of time, a professional certified hackers get Rs.50, 000 or Rs. 60,000 salary.

Good to see that you have an interest in Ethical Hacking and Security profession in early days.
However, to become a white hat hacker to work with a company to safeguard their infrastructure and intellectual property from internal or external threat you need to go through professional course like Ethical Hacking. Later on you may get a certification from EC council.
It's not necessary to get certified by CISEH and CPTE but important is CEH for EC council and if possible CISSP. These two courses cover all kind of hacking related technologies, skills and processes. It's up to you if you would like to get certifications of CISEH and CPTE.
Another Important aspect is you need to understand first about Infrastructure and different areas like Computing, Storage and Networking and how they have put together to run an IT. In early stages you might be curious about EH but in reality you need to earn expertise, experience towards when and where you are going to apply what EH knowledge.
