Event management has cropped up as one of the most profitable and best career opportunities. The number of companies/individuals organizing and hosting events has been growing rapidly. It is catching up as a bright career option due to element of style, flamboyance, glamour and glitz associated with pertinent corporate and social events because of the increasing trend in marketing and retail sector. You can work as an event manager in companies such as Wizcraft, television channels such as Zee TV, coordinate fashion shows for event management companies such as Lake and organize award ceremonies for magazines such as Filmfare.

Look event management is a minor segment in the field of management. It would be more preferred if you opt for hotel management and get the advantage of a broader concept which includes event management as well. The scope ia very wide. You have ample no. of opportunities in this field in India and abroad as well. Thanks and all the best!

Yes, you can pursue a short term course in wedding planning. But I would advise you to rather take up a Diploma or MBA in Event Management which will familiarize you better with the event industry and make you a competent individual.
